2A - Bug List

1) Inattentive drivers
-They text, aren’t checking blind spots, or are simply inattentive people
2) Poor recycling system at 2nd Ave Center (limited to three bins for the entire complex)
-Lack of funds, or passion, or simply no one cares
3) Poor fuel economy on my motorcycle
-Spark plugs, poor gas quality, poor fuel mixture, tire pressure, excessively high rpm
4) Littering
    -Laziness
5) Bulky riding gear (helmet, jacket, gloves, rain gear, thermal gear, etc.)
-Needs to be durable, low cost materials, CE specifications
6) Rides below 50 degrees can be numbingly cold
    -Windchill, improper gear
7) Shoe scuffs (especially on leather boots)
-Inattention, stairs with edges, debris on ground, uneven ground
8) Mechanical pencils breaking (Pentel GraphGear 1000 in particular)
-Poor quality or design, daily abuse
10) Wrong/slow orders at restaurants
-Inattentive or busy staff, someone forgot the order
11) Irrelevant/personal questions (my hand hurts) mid class
-Someone needs attention, unable to solve problems on own
12) Poor quality riding gear
     -Price constraints, poor manufacturing tolerances
13) Broken tail lights
-Inattentive owners/police, not knowledgeable/too lazy to check routinely, don't care
14) Electrical issues on old Honda CBs and VRFs (especially starter fuses)
-Poor design, material cost, or age. Honda is know for electrical issues with a few wiring
harnesses and some components (usually they are great though)
15) Short battery life on gaming computers
-High consumption, weight constraints, space constraints
16) Magnetic bracelet puts computer to sleep if touched against edge
-Physics, not really much to explain...
17) Shaky cam videos (I noticed this when our prof. - who's great by the way - posted a shaky video)
-Doesn't know, doesn't care, poor quality camera
18) People passing gas instead of just going to outside or to the restroom (especially during class)
     -Lazy, impolite, accident
19) Slow and inattentive pedestrians/students
-They are slow, may be tired, may not have any situational awareness
20) Inefficient schedules/days
-Other people’s schedules, poor transportation/parking availability, poor planning, small
commitments taking up too much time, distance

Overall, I found this assignment to be rather easy. I really do try to make changes to prevent things in my control from being an issue (this goes from modifying my riding gear and backpack to make them easier to carry, to regular maintenance on my motorcycle). This also means I feel like there is so much out of my control, it's almost pointless to bother being constantly annoyed and better to adapt to the situation/issue that I'm dealing with. That being said, after making this list, I definitely feel like I could be doing more to change the larger things that bother me (such as having an inefficient schedule).

  1. I think your bugs are universal! As I was reading your list I found myself saying "yup, yup, yup!" I believe that some of these already have solutions but if you were to develop a few further they could be a great product! The restaurant one could possibly be a new program designed to help keep track of orders.

  2. Hey! i like the approach you had towards the bugs. Some of the bugs you said i have them as well , so we share some of them. One of the bugs you mentioned was about the inattentive drivers. I cannot stand that and we know the reason why it happens so it is good to know why it happens so we could find a solution for it.
